The Social Rehab Center was born from the desire of the managing board in San José el Alto Penitentiary to create an environment of transition for the inmates that are about to finish serving their sentence, so that they can reintegrate successfully into society.
Thus, inmates can live within the Centre, and go every day to work and earn an income that facilitates their transition into the productive community. The center was designed as a miniature campus, consisting of an administrative building, a dorm building and a recreation and learning center.
The great goal of this building is to dignify the lives of people who have made mistakes in the past but that deserve another opportunity to rejoin happily to society.
