The house is located in the southern part of the city of Querétaro, inside a country community with view towards the Huimilpan Valley. As a design strategy, it was decided to make the most of the excellent views towards the valley and of the strong ascending slope that the site offers.
Having a unique opportunity with the combination of these two circumstances, we decided to access through a tunnel that leads to the main entrance, to be later able to emmerge inside the heart of the house, the central courtyard and the spaces that command the view to the valley.
We considered important to place this house in its time and place, so we made use of traditional rural elements like the loggia together with a contemporary solution of the space. The material palette is totally timeless: exposed brick painted in white, wood elements and steel structural members with a rusted finish.
